What Predator Plays Mind Games???

The live trap has been set up for 2 weeks now...still haven't caught a thing?

Take that back. Found a possum that weighed 1 lb. (dead...felt really bad because it died in the heat.)

That was going to be my guess. A cat likes to play with it's prey before it hauls it off, so you'd find feathers all around the cage. A possum kills 'em and either drinks the blood or eats the soft insides.. you'd find bird parts left behind. A racoon, on the other hand, snatches the bird and runs. And they're smart and strong enough to pry boards off the cage. I even had one climb up and unlatch the gate to the dog kennel so it could get to the birds!

Don't feel bad about finding a dead varmint. They make a great meal for the buzzards, and they won't hesitate to kill your birds.

It's not that I don't like seeing a dead predator...I just hate that it had to die that way.

I prefer the .22 to the head or something. I don't like something to suffer, no matter what it's done.

What you described in the initial post is really very creepy. Feathers one day and not the next etc. I have to agree with IMP......sounds like a human. I hope I am wrong.
