What predator would pile up dead chickens?

Weasel.
Dogs leave slobbery mahem.
Racoons the same.
Fox take whats needed at the time.
Fortify your coop run enclosure with 1/4 inch hardware cloth.
Weasels are night time hunters for the most part.
I have learned to live with my weasel (they are territorial, and you will only have one) . They are sometimes referred to as the "Farmers Friend" as one weasel will keep your rodent population in check.
Just check out some of the posts about nightmarish rat infestations, and see what I view as the result of lack of a weasel.
I have a weasel, and a secure coop for my chickens at night. I free range during the day with 3 guardian Dogs on duty. Yes I loose one occasionally, but not to weasel.
My Walk in coop is literally preditor (rodent) proof to everything except a determined bear.

I had a fox kill my rooster and then drag him under the coop, which sits on cinder blocks.
Per my research, foxes will cache their kill and come back for it later.
The attack happen in the afternoon, in broad daylight.

Animals do kill for fun.
If you don't believe me, you had never watched a cat.

So how do you deal with the rodents?

I don't have rats, probably because I have not killed my current weasel.
Mice only can get in my coop during the day through the chicken door, as I have no gaps, cracks or openings otherwise.
Chickens eat those mice as there is nowhere to hide once they get in.
Message is, dont kill your weasel, Instead beef up your coop to keep them out.
