Is possible to have a tame cottontail rabbit? Because mine is the spitting image of one, he is exact in everything about them!!! I just thought they would never be tame, you guys were right that when alert, a lot on sun passes under his belly, so he does have that hare type look, he's just so tiny... Any way tot ell the age?

Salt, It does look like the cottontails I got here in CT ears and all lol Its so so cute I keep looking at its picture, so it is a boy?

how much does he way, I think the only way they could be tame is if raise from birth, and even then its difficult

HI guys,

Beautiful bun salt and pepper , his body type reminds me a bit of a polish. :D

I just wanted to share a pic of my bud Toby. I posted about him as a new born a few months ago because he had a funny coat texture and thought I would share a pic of him all grown up. He kept the funny fur, it is all short and kinda velvety but not as soft as a rex's and some how became a lop ear although both his parents had normal ears.

Non of his brothers and sisters look anything like him, so I guess he is just my little changeling bunny.

This is such a cute rabbit!!! I agree, looks like a velveteen lop with just a slightly different (a little thicker?) coat. I do wonder what you would get if you were able to find a true velveteen lop to breed it with.

I'm guessing he weighs around 2 Ibs, but haven't weighed him to be sure yet, he's just starting to get used to me. Will be weighing him soon though, he's just so friendly, that I didn't think about a cottontail, be getting more picks soon =)

Your rabbit looks 100% like a domestic rabbit to me. I see wild Cottontails in the yard all the time; I raised a couple of litters many years ago. Other than it being a small rabbit of the "wild type" agouti color, there is very little similarity between your rabbit and a Cottontail.
