Thanks for the info. The lady had NZ and Beverens. They may be mixed with Beverens instead of NZ. What do you think? I know the photos are rough. Night All.
They do look new Zealand mix to me. As for the fur, their fur does start out looking thick and wooly, but they grow into it new Zealands are supposed to have some dense and long fur (but not too long) either the mother or the father of these babies had to carry the Vienna gene, and of I recall is dominant. So if any of hers do not look like this her REW that is mother / father to these kits must carry it. Do you know if I am correct about the parents of thmem? Did you get to see them?
So I just kinda take vet and expert advice with a grain of salt. My rabbits eat wild carrots and dandelions and plantago and kale all year round as they grow in my back yard. Sometimes they get their paws on oak seedlings or the like while being tractored and come out no worse for the wear even though vets scream that'll kill them.
. As each parent has different ways of caring for their newborns. I am trusting instinct and the most natural way. I want a healthy and hearty breed. Same approach I have taken with my chickens. Except my bunnies are getting petted a whole lot more.
BEW (blue eyed white) occurs Sometimes when the rabbit is born with two Vienna genes. That is just about the only way to get one. It's very rare to see a BEW that is not out of two Vienna marked rabbits. Since the BEW carried the gene needed to get Vienna Marked, the other REW had a part in determining what color they were. The brown does look like Chestnut agouti to me!
