Anyone have any recommendations for what might be causing my buck's eyes to be teary? They're not red, just watering as if he's crying. Other than that he seems to be acting normal.
My Mini Lop sometimes has runny eyes. It's usually just from the wind. Once I put a blanket on the side of his hutch to block the wind, his eyes began to clear up. You could buy some terramycin; it usually works wonders on my rabbits. If his eyes continue to run, he might have something more serious. There are quite a few things that can cause a rabbit's eyes to water.

I did try that, and maybe it is the wind that's bothering him. We have high winds here all the time. Thanks! I'll try putting him in a more insulated cage and see if that helps.

Sometimes its bunny algebra...like chicken math...but you have no idea where the variable came in :th

Spent the weekend busy on projects...cleaned out rabbitry, built cages And THEN...sold the rabbits lol and then hubby leaves to run an errand for a part we need and returns with 2 big boxes - of BABY RABBITS! WHAAAA? Go ahead....guess how many...

He said he saw a guy with a cage of baby bunnies and said I breed rabbits myself! Next thing you know he's collecting free bunnies! OMG. Hubby has BunnyMath! And it ain't natural! Bunnies do their OWN algebra! :gig. I have another day in the rabbitry figuring out space and he will be building another set of cages :lau de ja vu. Only these rabbits are only a month old, seems young to be giving them away. I have to go make sure they're all weaned proper and get them set up and sexed, it was late last night, they got water n treats and got tucked in the same way they arrived in a group. Looks like my "pet" area has turned into a mutt/meat area. Lol don't have to worry about about that law now :lau all hubby knows is the guy breeds 4 kinds and that the only breed he remembered was the NZW and that the guy doesn't have Florida whites.:gig ug. So, HMMMM hope they're full size rabbits at least. :bun
By the way, starting a chilly Monday morning with so many sweet baby buns is awesome :)

Wow!

I can tell you that you have some Harlequins in there, though whether or not they are purebred is hard to say. Wonder why the guy was giving them away?

Congrats!

Lol maybe that's the name he was tryin for :gig Harlem rabbits hubby remembered :lau

There is one in the mix that looks like a wild bun tho! Well light brownish coat, white tail. :/
I do see 5 different coats...the white red eyed like my NZWs, the orange ones, the orange and black and one that almost looks like a Cali then the lil brown girl that looks like the buns my dog brings me lil

If the guy was breeding mixes, you have some pretty mutts. The light brown sorta wild-type color is a Chestnut. The Flemish Giant has its own particular take on Chestnut that is called Sandy; it's an even lighter shade than the wild rabbits do. If we assume we are dealing with Flemish colors, the orange ones could be Fawns. On the other hand, if they are crosses, they are just orange.

Well, 7 does and 7 bucks, how bout that! Lol better odds than my own breeders :lau
NOW sexing seems like a piece of cake and I was Soooooo lost just a month or two ago :gig

The brown one is a girl as well as both orange ones and 4 of the NZ look alikes are girls yay!

The 2 Harlenquin* (orange and black ones) are both boys, dang it lol would have loved a doe in that color! Also boys the 2 that *look like* calis with blk tipped ears and nose are boys as well as 3 of the NZ look alikes.

I need to do some studying on breeds :/ and get hubby some bunny rehab!
