Agreed, breed her back after a day or so. She will be fine if you can get some litters out of her. Make sure she has a buck with good swimmers and she gets hit a few times so you can try to ensure more, smaller kits. I never do a final count on the number of bunnies I get until the next morning. Too many "I have seven babes... I mean, uh,,, 11 babes? Those weren't there before...!" moments. XD That kit looks about the size of one of my NZW kits... So yeah, pretty big!

Will do!

In other news, my rescue doe who had her first litter at 3 years old earlier this year had her second litter earlier this week; 8 kits! I have NEVER seen kits so well fed. She feeds like 4x's a day. I am feeding her lots of extra to keep her condition up but it doesn't seem to be phasing her. Every time I go out, no matter the time o day or how often I check, the kits have frog tummies 2-3x's wider than their rib cages! Check this out!

Beautiful kits, all healthy and trying to jump and squeak all the time, all growing so very, very fat and fast! I love this doe!

This is Bugz. I think he is an American Chinchilla. He's a spoiled house bunny.

He loves walking on a leash when its nice out or just running through the house.

Wow, Bugz looks like a big boy. How much does he weigh? Our two girls are growing by leaps and bounds. They are 4 months old today and almost 6.5 lbs. I have been off for the past 4 days and had alot of time to spend in the yard. For the past several days, they have been following a great routine. On the weekend, they are allowed to free range in the backyard all day. They don't really respond to being called. However, when it is time to go into their hutch, I ring a bell and start pouring their food in their bowls. They come running from wherever they are and put themselves away into their hutch. I love it. My real excitement will be when/if I can ring the bell and they come regardless of the time of day. One step at a time. My DH got to see one of them jump into my lap. They have stolen my heart - who'd a thunk it.

Last time I weighed him he was 12lbs. He's gotten a little chubby over the winter though. We still have several feet of snow on the ground so he only gets to play inside. Once it warms up I can start taking him on daily walks again. He loves it. He is an inside rabbit. He quickly outgrew his rabbit cage. We got him the biggest dog kennel we could find. He loves it. He has lots of room.
You know, rabbits are full grown at 6 months. Your babies probably wont get too much bigger. ;)

Patty, many rabbits keep growing after 6mos... Not sure where you heard that but meat size rabbits take at least 8 and giant breeds up to a year or more. My 6mo NZW gained 2+ more lbs before stopping....

American Chinchillas grow to be about 12 lbs. From the picture it could be that or a number of other breeds. A side view of the rabbit sitting might help to narrow the breed down.

Here are a few others it could be from the pictures, size, and color

American

Beveren
Flemish Giant
Giant Chinchilla

or it could be a mix. I had a Flemish Giant / New Zealand rabbit that was the grey color. She was 12 lbs. I do raise Beverens, Flemish Giants, Harlequins, and New Zealands. I raise them for meat and fur. They are not full grown until a bit over a year, but they can reproduce before then. An 8 week old male can get Mom pregnant if you don't separate them before that age. Girl bunnies usually can have their first litter at about 6 months of age, depending on breed. The Giant breeds tend to be closer to 8 months for the girls.
