Inthesticks, I see in your signature that you say you have 6Lionheads and 2 Lion dwarfs.
Doesn't the Lionhead standard say they are supposed to be dwarfs?
All mine weigh around 4 pounds, is that considered dwarf?

My LHs around btween 2 & a little over 3lbs

They are 1/2 Lionhead 1/2 Netherland dwarf ( haven't gotten around to weighing them w/ everything going on around here)
@ the time my LH ButterCup had 2 failed litters. I was able to be there for the birthing the 2nd time & found out the reason for the stillborn litter before, her hips were just a bit to narrow to safely get out kits when bred with my only LH buck at the time. She was pretty depressed and kept pulling so I ended up using a friends ND buck -People love them so she is having another litter of them
they stay quite a bit smaller than your norm Lionhead - I think the name sounds nicer than LH mixed w/ ND or a LH ND cross :)
these ladies were born on Jul14th of this year

I get it, that's a good idea. I have a F3 Tort Buck that has Netherland Dwarf in him. His size and body type is my favorite out of all my Lionheads.
Those are cute does, I have a blue tort that looks just like that one. I love the black and white, is it called broken or VM?

I'd say broken. As far as I know there are no VM carriers in the lineage. I would def love to have some & some BEWs
Aw love the torts - if there are pics you should def put them up!
I've only gotten 1 tort in all my litters so far, wish I got more because they are such lookers :)

Okay, so my rabbit just had her litter a couple of minutes ago. She had four kittens, they are all very small and two are peanuts.
Has anyone ever had such a large majority of the litter be peanuts?
I learned my lesson about breeding her to that buck.

I actually have yet to get a peanut. ButterCup did have a kit the size of what a peanut would have been, however it was completely normal looking- normal set ears, size head, and hind quarters - lost it due to being latched onto mom when exited the nest :(

I'm sorry that you have 2 peanuts - it's pretty much luck of the gene, or lack of luck. You could breed then again and get 1 peanut or none. In general it's 1 out of every 4 dwarf kits will get both dwarf genes but that's just on paper.

:(

The two look almost normal except for the small ears and a bloated neck.
One of the healthy kits is making a lot of noise, like a whimper, and jumping around, every couple of seconds?
Have you ever had this?
It isn't cold so I don't know why it would be doing this.

Are you along the east coast?
Mine have been really noisy too. I'm in Ma & thinking maybe due to the storm? I had to remove them from momma as well because she went berserk last night & chucked them out of the nest & then went to her upper level & just faced a corner. The kits have been rather loud (tho this afternoon have been pretty quite)
They were quite the 1st 2 days & she was fine with them now everyone is bonkers.
As long as it's still wiggling about & eating okay then I wouldn't be too concerned, just check on them through out the day(s)

All my animals have been acting up last night & today, but she's the only one w/ little ones right now.

Hope all goes well for them
