some people have completely different opinions in this.. there are pros and cons to both but personally I like bucks better, I think they are more docile and I think they make better companions but at the same time say maybe you might not like them because they spray too much. I don't have as much experience as some other people on here (you'll come accross some breeders and i wish i knew as much as them) but the females are a bit too territorial for me and our personalities clash a bit too much XD I love my buck though and i think he's a total sweetheart. hope I helped!

coolies, thanks for your help. I don't know much about rabbits but im guessing a buck is a male?? I thinkls I want a male too!

thanks again!

Yep buck is male and doe is female and kits are babies. Also my daughter reminds me there are bunnies and rabbits and they are not the same...went down the animal aisle today, saw one chinchilla they wanted 15 for it. Quite a few NZ and some spotted black and white ones but none called my name. Plus with not getting a house now I need to get proper places for what I have. 14 chicks cannot stay on my balcony much longer. Two rabbits can. Need to find some wood. Out of money now too. Always something.

I've never heard of an Am Chin going for $15. If it was really an am Chin that's a great price if it was healthy and decent. I know I wouldn't sell any of mine for that. ;-)

This is Louise, one of my Am Chins, she is due to kindle on the 27th. She is a great momma and raised 9 kits last time.

That is the going rate for a 1 yr old rabbit regardless of breed. Here they are all food. Reminder of where I live too. I saw a few torts too but most sell NZ white, pink eyes. None of the others had good markings for breeding really. It was 930am and many were panting in boxes or cages, no food or water in sight. Chickens are a ugly sight many are nude and mangy looking. I want to raise my own meat from babies so I know they are healthy. Once I can get my own place I want turkeys too. I see ducks and geese, peacocks, quails, dove and pigeon are big items here. All the fancy chickens are gone already. If I want nice it will take asking around each season. Give me a year and I hope to have a nice setup of chickens and rabbits for sale.
The first chinchilla I got I paid 7 bucks for, going rate for small not yet ready to breed he was around 2 months old. I bought my dutch last month for the same. I think they came from UK but unsure since many countries are sending animals to replace food supply lost during the war. The great big rabbits go for 25-35 bucks.
