OMG Stern rose you have your hands full!!

VKat - your bunny hutch is AMAZING! What are the dimensions? We (I mean DH) are getting ready to build something larger for our growing group.

Ok old man winter... Hit me with your best shot!

Now that's preparedness at the core. P.S. it's 85 degrees in my neck of the woods.

Yeah. 65 here. We only have about 60-90 days of winter but have a lot of livestock. I've got another 30 tons of round bales for the sheep and cattle. We'll start feeding hay in another few weeks I'd say, usually about the first of Dec.
I just don't like it when winter shows up early and I'm not ready.

Thank you! It was a lot of fun to DIY and dream up :)
This is my doe hutch for the mamas.
The whole thing is divided in half so it's two hutches under one roof. There's a solid wall dividing each house box, but we have hardware cloth as the wall above that. So if the rabbits feel social, they can see each other from atop their loft level. I'm really glad we did this because we got a second doe, and Hassen and her love to hang out, spending most of their time up top. It's really cute!
It is about 8 foot by 42 inches and 3 feet high. I really wanted to go big.

finished except for shingles and weather stain for the outside.

MY ADVICE having done this- pre-paint or stain your wood if you can BEFORE attaching the hardware cloth. I really wish I had thought to do that because it is a massive pain to get those edges without getting some gunked into the wire.

I did encounter a problem after the fact. Since Hassen wanted to spend most of her time on the loft, she also did all of her toileting up there. She likes to pick a corner and do all her business in one spot. She even does so in the grazing pen. None of the wood the animals can touch is stained. So I freaked out about urine soaking into the wood. Yuk! I really didn;t like teh idea of staining or sealing something that could be nibbled on, so the solution was to try a litter box. I used a deck-drain fastener screw to attach the box so she wouldn't kick it around, and it has worked perfectly. I just scoop the contents out every other day for my compost pile. :)

One last picture- here is our new doe. She's smaller a bit, but we love her coat. She needs a name! Any suggestions?
