I have two Holland lops living with my chickens. The chickens could care less about the bunnies. But every once in awhile the bunnies will" rush" the flock. They never are aggressive towards each other. Fun to watch.

I'm curious about your hyper MR's, shadow rabbit. I've bred them for many years, and while I have had some that were a handful, some of the very sweetest rabbits I have ever had have been MR's. Some of my happiest customers are people that got MR's from me.

One thing I would warn anybody considering a Mini Rex about, is the claws. I don't know how it's possible, but they have the sharpest claws of any breed I have ever seen. You want to be extra diligent about regular claw clipping with MR's!

Yours have dagger-nails too? I thought I was alone! His nails grow within a week after cutting them. They are always extremely long and have given me some pretty bad scars. As for his personality, he is just an overall mean rabbit. If I try to touch him, I am guaranteed to get bitten. The onto way I can grab him is through the roof of his cage, by his back so he can't turn around to bite my hand. I used to walk him on a leash until he started to attack my ankles. We would lunge, bite my pants or skin, and not let go. Whenever people come to see my rabbits, I always have to tell them not to stick their fingers in his cage. I do know a few nice MRs, but I have talked to many breeders and friends that have had hyper MRs, and a few people who have had an MR just like mine. They all told me to put him in the meat pen, but he was my first rabbit and I can't get rid of him now. I have learned a lesson though, if I ever get a rabbit with his personality again, it is going to the meat pen. I have tried to correct his behaviors, but nothing worked. People have thought it could be his hormones, but I don't know if its worth nuetering him. He does mount his stuffed squirrel all day and night... The strange thing is, that he is the cleanest, and healthiest rabbit that I have. Nothing can hurt him it seems, and he never pees in his nest box

I have 2 Flemish Giants and one Flemish Giant/Lop cross. I absolutely love my gentle giants. The cross is named Jack Rabbit and the 2 pure bred sister's are Pork and Beans! Jack is about 17 pounds and the girls are bigger than him at 6 months! Bigger than most cats by far! Love them to bits! I don't have a great shot of Beans. She is full of beans thus the name and is constantly on the go. Moving targets are hard to get a good piture of!

I have a gay American Silver Fox. A buddy of mine breeds them and this one wasn't interested in the females so he had to go. I saved him from the pot. At 12 pounds, he is the coolest little dude ever.

i love this.

totally save him from the pot.

our holland is so sweet has never messed with our dogs.one day i was dog setting a friends shitzu. poor fella loved the bun.but as soon as his paw touched the buns play rug(we have hard wood) bun dropped his head changed and nocked him over lol! he would lay with him on the couch but didn't want him anywhere near his rug.it was to cute to see him shake those floppy ears n charge like a bull

I might be using my junior Sable Point Lionhead doe for 4-H showmanship this year.
My problem is I can't find the necessary information on the breed.
For example, I need to know how many recognized varieties there, well the Lionhead is not a recognized breed so technically none. I can't find a website that has the COD colors.
I also need to know: showroom class, min/max weights, fur type (normal, wool, or both?), and breed specific DQ's.
Any other information is appreciated.
If I get a Mini Rex I will probably show that rabbit instead just because it will be easier to research the breed.

Normally showmanship doesn't require all that info, at least not the way it's done in NJ. Our showmanship infor is based off of Basic info, being that many people use calm mixed breeds for this. Lionheads are not recognized, so there is no way for you to find that info. Make your life easier, and use a Mini Rex. What info do you need on MRs? Do you have a copy of the SOP? If not, I could get the info for you from my book...

ARBA hasn't accepted them, so a lot of that info will be hard to find. Howver there is a parent club, but there isn't a set standard really yet. Mini rexes are a recognized breed.

I'm going to a rabbit show on the 19th and hoping to buy a trio of Mini Rex.
I want to win rabbit showmanship so that requires knowing the advanced questions.
Every state, fair, and judge does showmanship differently, I want to be prepared.
