Hi all,
Haven't posted in a while and just thought I'd share a lesson learned the hard way. I had one of my does next to my buck in separate cages. They weren't even directly against eachother, there were a few inches between the cages. I have no idea how it happened, but they got creative and the doe was bred through the wire. Bud had quite a ways to 'reach', I'm still not sure how this happened, but today I noticed the telltale kit movement in my doe's belly. So, I've learned something today and thought I'd pass it along to some other newbies: Don't keep your bucks right next to your does folks! The odds may not be great, but I have learned firsthand that an unintended pregnancy can happen through the wire! Time to prepare for babies I guess
