That's good because I have alot of questions even though I've read literally every single rabbit book in my library... Does anyone know where I can get more show information and how I should sign up for one? I've been looking on the ARBA website but can't find alot of information... same thing with registering a rabbitry should I email it or send it by mail? :rant
Read the post above.

Good on you PrimroseMom!! And good post!
I joke that I grew up in the Little Red Hen School of Doing Things ("I'll do it myself") lol. I have a really handy husband, but I don't have a "honey-do" list, I have a "Bunny-do" list. I'm trying to pass that kind of can-do attitude on to my kids, but it doesn't always go as planned - my son took his PSP apart before he knew what parts were available to fix it. Looks like he's going to have to replace the whole unit, but I guess that's a lesson in itself, isn't it?

After I wrote the post about building things I went to Loew's and bought the lumber for my next project. Yey!!

Has anyone dealt with abcesses I have one of my champion buck that is almost gone. Any tips to make it fully go away so I can show him again?

I have no personal experience yet but my rex has one and I have been info gathering.

Batryl is an antibiotic typically given to rabbits with an abscess. Combipen is another one. Never oral, pretty much always a sub-Q injection. Always give probiotics and TONS of hay with antibiotics. In general the abscess must be lanced, any pockets inside broken up, drained, and washed daily. Most rabbit keepers leave it open to heal and rinse it daily with peroxide (though I might suggest iodine solution. It's more expensive, hurts less and it is a little more effective). If it scars they may develop odd colored hairs (white) or an obvious scar with a bald patch making them unshowable anyhow. :p I hope it works out for you!

I think you aren't too far from LSU Vet School. They treat rabbits in their Exotic Department. You can call for an appointment. I took one of my rabbits after a vet charged me a lot and knew nothing. LSU charged me less and fixed the problem immediately. They really knew what they were doing. Also, they will give you estimates and have some flexibility on charges. I only say this because if you show your rabbit you may not want to risk scars or discoloration. Just a thought.

When entering shows u will send the money to the show secretary if ur entering early, there are also day of show entries which is a dollar more a rabbit. And when wanting to register a rabbitry I recommend sending it by mail. It may take a little longer but I just find it better. If ur wanting to hurry up and get it registered u can always email.:) if u have any questions feel free to ask me.:)

Okay thank you... What is best? Early entry or day of show? I think I would prefer day of show but I'd be worried that there might not be any more space available :/... I guess we'll send the Rabbitry registration form by mail even though I don't see the point of it my mom thinks it's a good idea

Is it possible for a baby rabbit to be blind in just one eye??? My Flemish babies are going to be 3 weeks this Tuesday and one of the kits eyes is always closed and the other one is fine. I clean the closed eye with a Q-Tip soaked in warm water and when I get it open the eye is blueish looking... I have to open the eye constantly or it gets hard to open... what should I do??? :(

Yes, I know what you are saying. If we stick with our passions long enough we become cool without changing anything. Lol.

Question. I have a doe who is not quite 6 months. We were planning on breeding her for the first time next month. This morning I found her with a haystache running around her cage. When we fed this evening she was even pulling fur! I have had her since she was 6 weeks old (with her parents and the rest of her litter). She has not been with a buck since her and her brothers were separated at 10 weeks and she is not even housed near a buck. She's never gotten out of her cage. What would trigger a false pregnancy? And how soon should I try to breed her?
