Had a scare this morning something got in my kindling hutch and freaked out my doe and took one of the kits. To my suprise I found the kit but he has two teeth marks in his back. Thank goodness he's fine.:)

That is so scary. Did you figure out how it got in? It may come back. On another thread we've been talking about deadly snakes even nonvenemous ones like black runners killing our animals. Where did you find the kit?

I have an adorable male bunny named Woobsie. He's about four months old (estimated) and seems pretty big already. Can anyone help me with figuring out what kind of rabbit he is? Because I bought him from Rural King, I have no idea.

I've been looking at possibilities and it seems like his markings fit the checkered giant the best. Is that a good guess, or am I way off the mark? He has a very pronounced arch and his ears are big, but they don't flop over. Not sure what else will help in figuring out his breed. If you need more pictures, I will try and get them (as long as he stays still for 30 seconds...), I just need to know what angle/comparison. Thanks!

I just love baby bunnies.
Me too but i don't like the gifts they give me

I don't think your rabbit is a purebred. He might be part Checkered Giant, but he can't be only that, partly because his color is Broken Chestnut. While it's true that a lot of the rabbits of marked breeds don't have correct markings, they are limited to the color genetics of the breed. The only colors that CG's come in are Blue and Black, which are both Self colors. Chestnut is an Agouti color; because Agouti is dominant over Self, you can't get an Agouti from Selfs.

Your rabbit's coat looks a bit too long for a CG, too. CG's have a very sleek, short coat, which better shows off their slender body type. It isn't as short as a Rex, but it hugs the lines of the body pretty snugly. It causes the feet and legs to look slimmer, and the head more refined, than your rabbit's does.

Your rabbit might be part Flemish Giant, but since Flemish don't come in Broken or Chestnut, it can't be pure Flemish, either (the Flemish version of Chestnut is called Sandy, and it is a distinctly lighter shade). New Zealands come in Broken, so one possibility is some type of New Zealand cross.

Bunny lady, this is the little buck that my Mini Rex had in June. The owner, a breeder, have her to me because she thought she was sterile and she bought her as a pure breed to mate to her purebred buck. This was the off spring. I think he is beautiful. He has a rich thick coat. I am just curious whether he looks pure breed and whether he is just beautiful to me. I ended up hand raising him so I love h very much. He is my pet.
