Bunny lady, this is the little buck that my Mini Rex had in June. The owner, a breeder, have her to me because she thought she was sterile and she bought her as a pure breed to mate to her purebred buck. This was the off spring. I think he is beautiful. He has a rich thick coat. I am just curious whether he looks pure breed and whether he is just beautiful to me. I ended up hand raising him so I love h very much. He is my pet.

Cameras can do weird things from some angles, so I really can't say anything about his type. He definitely has the Rex coat. His color looks a little light for a "good" Castor (his color), but that may be because he is so young - it may improve as he matures. I'd have to say that he looks most like a Mini Rex from this angle.

Thank you so much. He does get darker as he grows. Here's another foto just because I'm proud of him. I'll take more when he's a little older and I can get a good shot of him.

The best photos for telling breed and type are taken from the side. Front toes under the eye, back toes under the knee. Cover their face as you position them, and while taking the photo if nessicarry. Petting them down the nose/inbetween the eyes kind of trances them out and they should stay put for a photo.

Thanks. I'll try again. I was trying to take a side shot. Lol

So now my doe has lined the nest box with hay, and inside that she has pulled some fur for the bottom! The stork should arrive soon!
Good luck with your babies! My doe refused to show any signs of labour while I was watching, but I left for 10 minutes and when I came back there were 4 little babies in the hay. Of course, I've learned since then to leave them alone....

I dont have NZs ut I had a holland lop who was shedding like crazy about a month ago. Almost like he was going thru a molt of some sort. I didn't rabbits did that. My doe never went thru that. I combed him for almost a half an hour one day.
