Aww. Thanks for the sympathy. You really haven't, have you?

Primrose, it is pretty uncommon in the meat breeds as they're way more standoffish but it is when you rub a rabbit between the eyes down the nose and they flatten down and relax and chuck their teeth hapilly and don't move. They go into a sort of happy relaxed trance and will just be overjoyed from the lettings for as long as you pet them. It is very cute.

Can anyone tell me what this is. What causes it and how to get rid of it

It looks like a tumor to me. How long has it been there? Is this a pet, or a breeder? If it is a pet, and can eat appropriately, you could keep it, putting it down when it starts to get sicker. If it is a breeder, I would cull it.

I just got a rabbit trying to get it back to health. It sneezes

and has white cream looking stuff coming out his nose. What should I do?

I happen to know Celie through BYC and also obtained two rabbits from her. She is very reputable and her rabbits are sweet and productive. I have seen her entire operation and can attest to the quality. I also know she is dedicated to honesty and truth telling. I am not related to her and only know her bec of BYC and the rabbits I got from her. I take offense at you saying her post was a "crock". She is knowledgeable about what occurred to her and she posted as a service to rabbit breeders. I have never made a post like this before. I have found everyone to post in the interest of other animal lovers and breeders. I don't appreciate the tone of your post.

Lulz. That's a crock. I would love to hear the OTHER side of that story, you know? My rabbits produce fine and I own snakes. I can handle my snake and then say hi to my rabbits and they don't care, even the mamas. One of my rabbits is in the same room as the snake. My snake is too small right now to eat rabbits but I would certainly feed them rabbits if it weren't. :p I feed me my rabbits. I would be unhappy if one of my rabbits didn't produce just because a few snakes were around. They have great kits and litters while my prey-driven dogs roughhouse right in front of their cages and cats and coons stroll through the yard. Not good that the lady is harassing people but if one's rabbit that they sold is eating it's young that may not be a problem with the snakes at all. So I'd love to hear what the purchaser has to say about it and how the rabbits are otherwise being kept.

I will simply address this with a fact.

Someone, law enforcement will determine who, posted a malicious add on Craigslist. This add gave out personal information and stated to ALL, to come and get their free rabbits. As a result, Celie has been harassed at all hours of the day and night. I am not related to Celie, and only know here through BYC. Whenever I have had a question or concern about my chickens, she has always been knowledgeable and kind. I would have hoped that we could all treat each other that way on BYC.

If someone is unfamiliar with a situation, perhaps a more "neutral" tone would have been less inflammatory. I would like to think that everyone on this site has the same general interest in animals. We all have the same interest, whether our animal is a pet or food source, we want them to be healthy and well cared for until their time. Everyone here seems very helpful when someone has a problem, whether it's a chicken or a rabbit.

I don't believe she was attacking anyone, and it's sad that now you guys are ganging up on her. Can we not offer the respect we demand?

The bit she was attempting to debunk was the bit about how rabbits will not produce or will eat their babies if they smell snakes. Absolutely 100% not true. Her (Chocolate) rabbits don't do that, my rabbits don't do that, and I'm guessing that like me whomever else's rabbits she comes into contact with don't do it either. If I had to guess, I'd guess the issue was husbandry related (on the buyer's part, NOT Celie's) and not related to reptiles. Does can be skittish creatures, and there's zero need to perpetuate more unnecessary fear of large reptiles than animal planet and the h$u$ already hand us.

I reread ChocolateMouse's first few sentences, "Lulz. That's a crock. I would love to hear the OTHER side of that story, you know?" I then reread mine. I respectfully disagree that I am "ganging up on her". Her first couple of lines were nothing more than inflammatory and a bit rude. When I responded, I made sure I was not.

I don't know about how rabbits and snakes interact, I just believe that we can be respectful of each other and each others experiences.

It is true to an extent. A lot depends on specific situations and how they are raised. I've had a lop in a cage drop dead upon sight of a puppy. It had only seen one other rabbit, vet said shock.
Few years back had watched a friend lose litters to a doe eating them, found a coons nest above her cage. 3rd try and removal of the coons and she's calm mum again.

My lop LOVES my dog and cat. They Know each other. He was raised with them. No issues except convincing him he can't hump the cat!

My breeder meat rabbits weren't raised with the dog. If a wild survival instinct pops up in the gene pool and the surroundings change or predator fear kicks in due to new smells its perfectly conceivable that the stress caused her to be a baby eater.

I know snakes, I have always loved natures outcasts lol. I bred large constrictors for years, switched to ball pythons and boas then had to make food...for Us...rattlesnakes pretty tasty but boas not so much! Left the reptiles for farm animals like my awesome bunnies & chickens! Sold my breeding stock and had a few farmhands...lol now we raise what we can eat.
I'm Learnin rabbits still but lovin them too.
Snake lovers know feeding isn't a popular topic and to harass someone like this is completely out of line.
The ad posters need to be caught. They are possibly endangering Celine posting nonsense like that. They were impatient not wronged in anyway and in turn have caused a lot of heart ache and stress on the innocent and the animals.
I have Celies breeding stock lines in my rabbitry and love them. They are great mothers and I have just had one have her 1st litter, produce a litter of 8 healthy babies. Big as hamsters poor mama! Lol Great size, good lines and a sweet temperament.
