We have kits! Our mini rex doe kindled this morning. When I took out breakfast, no babies, but she was pulling fur and adding it to her nest. One hour later, four healthy kits! She was still pulling, so we left her in case she wasn't done yet. I will get pic later, but so far two brokens and two solids, and I think at least one of the solids is a blue. One broken had a tiny sore on her head, maybe from over cleaning? Should I put neosporin on it? It was very small, not bleeding or anything. Love having sweet babies! Our older kits are almost five weeks and are so busy.

Okay, just the four I'm pretty sure. Here are a few pics

This one is blurry, just trying to show color. Seems mostly solid, much lighter than the black, but the underside is lighter?

And around the neck, not like a broken, maybe a seal or an otter? I don't know, very pretty color though! Does appear to possibly be something shaded, just not sure what!

One of the brokens, very sweet little one, uneven nose spot so will have a fault, this is the one with the tiny sore spot.

Solid, pretty sure black,

Very nice pattern on this broken, full butterfly on the nose, so we're happy about that!

Awwwwwwww babies!!!!
I can't wait for next year!
It'll be sooner if my parents will drive me to get this cage!
Urg "it's to far" it's only 2hrs away.

It's a 3level rabbit cage 3 big cages or 6smaller cages. It has wheels, dropping pans, solid heavy frame. A little rust and it's only $80!
I'll get a pic in a minute.

Congrats on your litter!

I imagine the odd-colored baby's color is a bit clearer by now?

I copied the pics of the two broken kits because of what you said about the nose markings. Please understand, I'm not picking on you at all, it's the kind of thing I have heard from sooooooo many breeders of many different breeds over the years.

According to the Mini Rex breed standard, the breakdown of points on a show table is as follows:

Body - 35
Head - 5
Ears - 5
Fur - 35
Color - 15
Condition - 5

With the Brokens, Color is broken down to:
Color - 10
Pattern - 5

So you get a total of 5 points for the whole pattern. That's all. As long as the rabbit has color on the ears, color around the eyes, color on its nose, and enough color on the body to have between 10% and 50% of its body colored, you're good! An unbalanced nose marking might cost you half a point, as would unbalanced body markings or scattered white hairs in the colored areas on the body. A full butterfly is interesting, but it's no more important than elbow spots or cheek spots or belly spots - these are Mini Rex, after all, not "marked breeds" like English Spots or Checkered Giants. You'd be marked down far more for a rabbit whose color is sun-faded or has a coat that's molting than you would for uneven nose spots. And a butterfly won't save you if a rabbit lacks color around one eye. I'm just saying, lighten up on the markings, guys, there are much more important things to pay attention to!
