Another post got me to thinking... Somehow I have accumulated a lot of chickens that were not in my original plan. I need to not have so many off brand chickens I think. I have too many varieties and odd unpaired birds right now that I think I should think about finding them a new situation. Birds I have that are exra right now and do not fit my program are 4 Jersey Giants, 2 black wayandottes, 3 RIR (and a cockerel).

What oddball birds have you ended up with this season that you really have no use for?

Be sure to post your state.

i'm in California.

i'm not a breeder. My birds are for eggs and pets. So i rehome anybody who is a trouble-maker. Right now i have an EE going to a new home tomorrow who did not fit in with my newer Red Star group, and then decided to beat up her only friend, my other EE.

i have a WCB Polish hen who came with another bantam group i adopted this past summer. She acts shy, but then loves to torment the broodies for some reason. There is one in particular she goes after. She just stands in front of the nest box and pecks at her until i come out and break it up. i'm working on a coop expansion, but if the extra space doesn't solve the problem, she needs to go. Life is too short to listen to screeching chickens all day.

A ee cockerel who is just starting to practice breeding. A few more, but they'll go to the show tomorrow.

EE cockerel free to a good home in western nc.

I had a OEGB/Cochin mutt cockerel, with a skull and brain defect. Fell over one occasions or ran in circles, didnt crow..... just useless down to his scrawny little body. But he was funny. he was found dead one eve , no injuiries. I would still have this useless freeloader.
