What silly things are your chickens scared of???

Me without my ball cap/or hat on or when I'm fully dressed out in OD green fatigues/cammoed out. They don't like walking and talking trees or bushes and for sure don't like mostly bald red headed men with shiney chrome domes, LOL

Well lately, the fan I put out there to help keep them cool. They are okay once it's been on for a while and I think they appreciate the breeze. But they don't like it when it first comes on.

And the red power cord. OMG, I'm guessing it looks like a snake? They don't want to cross it when it's time to go back into their run.

Yea, one time I put a harness and leash on Buttermilk (hey don't judge) and I put the leash on and she went ballistic. I guess she thought it was a snake. :p

Mine are afraid of........ME, haha, as are most things come to think of it, haha, no actually my chickens are afraid of butterflies. If one flies by their coop they all start yelling and running and trying to get away!

snow... Mine are terrified of snow, which doesn't work out so well when it snows a lot. I thought maybe they were colorblind and couldn't tell what was there.

I've recently found my Belgian d'Uccle are afraid of black cooking pots, frypans and bakeware. Whilst I understand cooking pots and frypans are the natural enemy of chickens they don't seem to be afraid of plates and microwave dishes.
Perhaps I should explain: Whenever I cook and have some leftovers in my plate or bowl I leave it out for the chickens. They love it and run to the plate and pick it clean, however, when the same leftovers are in a black frypan or bakeware they run away and won't touch it. I've experimented by putting some of their favourite foods in the pans and they still won't come near even when I hold it out to them. These are chickens that will jump into my lap when I hold their favourite foods.

Their new coop!

The 6 of them have been jammed into this tiny little coop for way too long. I finally get them a real coop with a whole 8 feet of roosting space and I go out there at dusk and they are all cramming their fluffy butts into their old coop. Two nights in a row I've pulled them out and tucked them into their new coop. I'm hoping that tonight we have a breakthrough.
