What silly things are your chickens scared of???

yippiechickie.gif
Mine aren't afraid of much. They run a little when the dog gets near the fence or something different, but they are afraid of the fish net.I have a good size net that I use when I need to catch one and they run when they see it.If I even move it around in the area that it stays, the rooster does his thing

and they are gone.If it is setting still it doesn't bother them. They don't care for the broom either.I don't know why.

Mine has always been scared of flying birds and noisy planes, we are too vlose to the local airport and on their outgoing route. She is not aftaid if rain and I worry she'll get sick for spending time while it's cold and raining! Last week I had to grab a towel for her, and she was ready to go out again after dried lol

She is kinda crazy scared of the brooms, but I guess she has seen us cleaning the floor trying to pass and thinks it moves so unexpectedly random lol

Such funny stories!

Not much mine are scared of anymore. The exception...scrambled eggs!! They will not eat them and they run from them every time I try to give them some. Guess I can't blame 'em for being scared LOL

Post what funny things your chickens are scared of! My chickens are quite terrified of a soccer ball (or any ball) and a broom....... I dunno how those objects got their reputation around here........
ours are terrified of a broom. they kept getting into the neighbors yard, he didn't mind, but his yard was just too close to the wilderness. I would sneak up on the chicks when they were in his yard and scare them with a broom. don't know if you can train chickens, but after about 3 times they no longer go in his yard. funny though, you would think they would be deathly afraid of the lawn mower, but no they will chase after it. I think they like the little grass clippings. we don't let them out when mowing, but they will run along the inside of the pen following the mower. TW (The Wife) likes to mow and she always aims the discharge at the pen. they run along grabbing anything that comes out. very funny to watch. I have also used the broom trick to keep them out of places we don't want them. most the time it works, sometimes it will take 2 or 3 scaring's to get the message across. Y'all have a happy chicky day.

Me without my ball cap/or hat on or when I'm fully dressed out in OD green fatigues/cammoed out. They don't like walking and talking trees or bushes and for sure don't like mostly bald red headed men with shiney chrome domes, LOL
