That isn't mine, Nava. Just an example of how the pattern could look in those colors.

I started on my TN Waltz quilt using 9" blocks. The plan is to do a double size quilt, rather than a queen. I'm doing the stars in various shades of blue and the other colors are cream, gold and beige in various shades, and lighter blues than the actual stars, maybe some violet blues, too. The checkerboard corners of the star blocks will use scraps from my stash so they won't all be the same as this one.

Here are the first star block and the first snowball block:

You need to go make about 3 more of each of those blocks and lay them together, because my poor little brain cant even wrap around how that is going to look. So....go make em!!!

I had to take a break, sorry. Yeah, it will become easier to see when I have more blocks made. I'm trying not to rush doing it--have been having headaches lately and I can't push through this project like I have on some of the recent ones.

The fabric between the star points and on the corners of the snowball blocks is a really pretty deep gold with some blue in the paisley swirlies. It seems more brown in my pic than it really is. I saw it today and just knew it would look good.

Had to rework the first block, but now have a few done. Here is what I have so far, though the stars themselves will probably not be in this exact arrangement when all 35 are finished.

Holy Smokes!!! I can't believe how that came together! With just the first 2 blocks made, it just didnt look like it was going to work. But now? its working!!!! How cool!

I may end up needing to do more blocks, if the emerging pattern works better with more. May have to do two extra rows each direction.

I think a pattern like this is better all over without a boarder anyway.
