What size feeder and water needed for 10x chicks?

What heater do you have under your waterer? I have a heated waterer that holds almost 3 gallon, but we doubled the size of our flock this year so if I can figure out a second heated waterer for the group, that would be mighty helpful. If not, I’ll fill daily as needed.
I take it you are using mains power or are you using DC?

Hey bud.?!

You can always make a self filling water feeder.
It is in my Google Drive. You should have access I think. If not send the request.

Is self filling and has sight level. Adjustable to accommodate their height. Expandable.

You can see it in use top left corner. Had the vertical nippels back then.

Hey hey!

Well this particular post is a little dated. Since the run was assembled, I have build a water reservior. It's an insulated 5-gallon-bucket stand with walls that feeds 1/2" PVC with several self-filling watering cups.

A light duty spring pushed an empty cup up, opening the valve, it fills with water, weighting the cup down and closing the valve. Great system, gravity fed, and no leaks. A 20230705_111735.jpg nd there a pvc union to remove the 5 gallon bucket from within the stand for cleaning.

Lasts about a week in the plain of summer. Cups are easy to clean with a toilet bowl cleaner. Turn them (threaded) to dump and back to refill. 20230706_175136.jpg 20230706_092320.jpg I plan to insulate the pipes before the winter.

This one is mine. No need for cleaning cups out. I changed from vertical nipples to horizontal ones. The green hose is a potable water hose. It lets me distribute water to run or for anywhere else. Lasts a month or two under the shade of the Mesquite tree. Put in a quart of apple cider vinegar once a month, or twice a month. Worked awesome for 10 or so year until my flock was killed by vagrants that lived in the lot behind me.

And this is the chicken tractor water system.
