I love showing birds... And I want to breed.

That first sebright looked seriously crappy... But what if I get from Cackle Hatchery? From their advertising, they're supposed to be high end... I mean, no offence, but are you just dissing all hatcheries in general, even if you don't know the specific one I'm talking about? I don't know where to start...

Ah, but what is the legal definition of 'high end"? There is none, and stores/hatcheries/companies can abuse that phrase to their hearts' content.

I'm not dissing hatcheries, just stating facts. They have a role, and fulfill that role nicely. Just like Walmart does. But do you go to Walmart for high end, super luxe good quality stuff? Or do you go to Walmart for cheap, serviceable 'meh' stuff? You get what you pay for, no matter what kind of product the company sells.

Breeders on the other hand, deeply care about quality. To the point where most of them are probably losing money on their birds. But they don't care, it's the passion and the breed that drives them. Not mass production and $$$.

Ok, I'll see if I can find breeders... I wish I could order from Mcmurray, except it's in the U.K.

Actually, that "she" might be a he....

So to put this nicely there is a 1 in 100 chance of getting a nice sQ sebright from a hatchery. If you want show you should by at the next local poultry show.

Also sebright are very hard to sex and take a long time to sex!
