can't believe I found pomegranates at the market. They got those an scrambled eggs, because I felt guilty I had to leave them for a few days....of course they have a chicken sitter, but still it's not the same.

banana's and strawberries! Couldnt get the banana's peeled fast enough. First time in a long time did all the girls (60 plus) make it into the henhouse before me, probably thought I had more banana's!

Today I fed my 12 chickens

~banannas

~ Cooked oatmeal

~ Crooked neck squash

WOW did they fight over all the above!! I saw sum1 on here gave cooked oatmeal. SO I tried it today and It was gone in probably 10 minutes! LOL

After reading about so many of you feeding BOSS to your flock, I went out and bought a bag. I introduced it to them this week and a couple of them go right for it but the other 6 pick up a few but aren't as interested. I thought they would like BOSS more.

Can anyone tell me if they noticed if their chickens break open the seed or just eat it whole? I noticed a sometimes they would crack it open and other times they would eat it whole.

Mine have always eaten BOSS whole and never one that didn't go crazy for it. It's a daily thing around here. Maybe in time the rest of yours wil partake. Though chickens are certainly like the rest of us in their individuality. Folks here have feathered friends that love strawberries. I have never had a one who liked strawberries. But other berries - lovefest.
