What Special Treat or Yummy Did Your Flock Get Today?

I love to give my chickies sunflower seeds! i give them de-shelled roasted (no salt!) seeds from the grocery store and when they hear the baggie crinkling they come running!! I will have to try some bananas and grasshoppers!

I just went out and let the girls out. Within a few minutes I heard my EE and Barred Rock scrapping over something so I go to find out and my EE is running around with this HUGE catapiller! I kid you not this thing was as thick as my pinkie and almost twice as long! Well they played grab n chase until finally the Barred Rock swallowed it up. I waited to see if she would choke because this thing was massssssssive, but nope, she was a happy chicken! lol!

Mine got BOSS, wheat and a couple of cherry tomatoes. In a bit, I'm going to find out if they like cauliflower leaves and celery.

Oh, and I found a lost, half-dead worm on the driveway that I threw in their pen. When I left, they were still gathered around looking at it suspiciously.

I steam brocolli and thier carrots.....................they love it.
Yes, I am retired and don't have many to cool for aonymore.......

At this moment, my husband took sliced apples to the goats,watermellon for the blue marans pen,and grapes for the laying flock..
We have to much fun......

My Babies got Beets, Cantalope, Organic Yogurt, Corn on the Cob, and Organic Kelp

It was a variety today:

*BOSS
*leftover pasta carbonara
*leftover cucumber scraps
*some green tomatoes from the garden that looked deformed and dry

They ate all of it (of course)!

mine got a 1/2 watermelon that had gotten frozen in the outside fridge...they were a bit puzzled at first, but by the end of the day, nothin but a rind.

left over garden salad and meal worms... and a cut up, cold tomato
