It various from hen to hen. Some lay on 1 others lay on 5, while most lay on 12-20

I had one set on three. I also had one start setting on ten and in a week she was setting on 14. So keep checking. I would mark the five she is currently setting on and mark your calender for 28 days. If she lays more eggs, she will leave them when the earlier eggs hatch so have an incubator ready in 27 days. I always have an incubator ready just in case something goes wrong and trust me a lot can go wrong. Set it up a little early.
