Just dont let them around any great stuff foam, mine liked to eat it wet AND pull it to pieces when it was dry - good thing the pulled off pieces were to big for them to eat - so they'd just run all over the house with this big yellow puff in their bill while I tried to chase them down.

Had to use needle tweezers to clean up their bills/teeth after eating it wet, too.

I wouldn't call them jerks! - Just very inventive and curious. You can use their curiosity to make them help you in the garden: I dig over the veggie bed and the ducks follow behind me, searching for anything interesting (edible!), till and fertilize the ground… - I was laughing my butt of this weekend. - 24 ducks waiting for me to drive in the spade and turn over a new spec of ground…
They're pretty funny. Mine drill holes in the ground and get grubs. They also like eating wasps, which I love because I don't like them.

I think I have a Drake Pekin, which is good because I can cross the Pekin and muscovy to create meat ducks. My dogs love duck meat. The 4 I have now we will be keeping to be layers. I actually do like them, just not yesterday when they ate the insulation :gigTheyre definitely different than chickens.

Once they have their pond in a few weeks, I think it'll help keep them busy. They have a small one right now, but I'm going to make them an 8x8 one with a pond liner and a pump in it. Then I'll put their coop a few feet away from the pond so they live in their own coop not in the chickens.

I'm indecisive about what stain I want to use, it's between cherry or grey barnwood for chicken and duck coop.

Definitely if using insulation material it's got to be covered by plywood..:D
We slid it down the slats of our pallet coop, I'm not sure if you've ever seen it. The chickens never touched it, they knew how hard we worked on it... They watched us the whole time  Like they hired us as contractors and they were checking out work as we did it.

It was all the muscovy duck, she's crazy I think :gigMy Pekins were ratting her out and didn't have anything to do with the insulation, I guess I should just call her a jerk.

I had to put her sibling down 2 weeks ago because the breeder sold her to us with a spine defect that got worse as she got bigger. We tried everything to save her, but had to make the choice to put her down.

Do you think I should get another muscovy for her or should she be fine with the Pekins?

She’ll probably be fine with the Pekins she’s bonded to them right. I have one Muscovy female who hangs with my Runners an Buffs more than the other Muscovys. It isn’t true they can’t communicate she an them seem to do fine. But of course if you want another scovy go for it! That’s a lot of work y’all put into your coop sorry your having a redo now. I am surprised the chickens didn’t mess with it. Very nice coop too.
