She’ll probably be fine with the Pekins she’s bonded to them right. I have one Muscovy female who hangs with my Runners an Buffs more than the other Muscovys. It isn’t true they can’t communicate she an them seem to do fine. But of course if you want another scovy go for it! That’s a lot of work y’all put into your coop sorry your having a redo now. I am surprised the chickens didn’t mess with it. Very nice coop too.
I really don't want more ducks unless it's hatched ones that we are using for meat. We are moving the ducks next weekend down farther because we are extending our run once again... It'll be 11,000 sq ft right now it's 7,000. My JG don't like the ducks at all, so I'm hoping if I move them down to their own area the JG will just leave them alone

That will be a nice big area for them.
I love my JG, but man they can be stubborn. They think every feeder is theirs so I made the ducks a shelter with their feed in it out of a storage tote. I cut a big opening in it, it's raining out so hopefully that'll help keep their food dry. The JG don't know there's food in there and they're too big to get any. I outsmart them daily :gig

I wouldn't call them jerks! - Just very inventive and curious. You can use their curiosity to make them help you in the garden: I dig over the veggie bed and the ducks follow behind me, searching for anything interesting (edible!), till and fertilize the ground… - I was laughing my butt of this weekend. - 24 ducks waiting for me to drive in the spade and turn over a new spec of ground…

What is this "waiting" thing you speak of? If I pick up a shovel and it takes more than 3 microseconds to turn over earth for my muscovy to churn through, I start getting pecked in the leg.

"I thought you were supposed to be foragers!!!"

Your ducks are definitely not alone in this behavior! I have hard pink foam-style insulation around the foundation of my house that the ducks go crazy for if they can find any that is exposed (or, more accurately, if they expose it). We also once made the mistake of thinking we could store a board of foam insulation in the barn. The ducks found that too. Last year, a storm blew a styrofoam cooler into our yard without our knowledge. The ducks ate it and pooped styrofoam bits for a couple of days. Thankfully, no one has become ill from their little “snacks”. Darn ducks!

Yes, DUCKS!!! - Mine peeled off the insulation of the copper pipes between the AC-compressor and the house. Now i have hard-shell pipe-insulation…
Just a word to the wise..but that’s not me....our crazy ducks got into..old insulation, old who knows what from an old sink my hubby tore out of one of our appts..two got veryyyy sick and died in three hours. Keep some activated charcoal on hand for the next time..my favorite duck..we think dribbled house stain..I didn’t know about charcoal so I scrubbed his beak with dawn...ugh

@WannaBeHillBilly great to have you back. Our ducks are adapting to their new home. Our Pekin is the ambassador. She pecks the dogs on the nose when they poke through the pen fence.
I'm glad both of you are back! @Texag87 and @WannaBeHillBilly
Now, where's @Jpat ?!
Not so sure about fully being back… :sick

do ducks really have teeth???

They don't have teeth that fall out, but they do have sharp grooves in their bills that allow them to sift through water and grind up stuff.. I call them teeth because they're sharp and have groves that stuff gets stuck in... or in the case of great stuff foam glued in and has to be picked out.
