WHAT THE HECK AM I HATCHING?NEW PIC!

I don't think they are wild turkeys. When I moved them to the hatcher last night I candled one and it had internally pipped. The thing I saw in the air cell looked like a duck bill. 5 have eternally pipped so far this morning.
Do you think that in a single breed there could be a wide variance in egg color?
I just don't know what else it could be. Oh well its sort of exciting.

I don't think snakes or turtles say "peep"!

Good luck regardless! Surprises can be fun!

True, BUT baby crocs & 'gators DO make little croaks & chirps to call Momma 'gator... and come to think of it, their little noses are kinda long and round like a duck bill...

First of all I bet their not snake eggs or turtle they usually are soft shelled and not brown. I would guess water fowl and depending on where u live most are ok to take so just wait and see it could be exciting !

No still 5 pips. When I go up and plaster my face to the bator window I can here them peep! I am wondering if individual ducks have a variance in egg color? I tried to take a pic and my camera died.
Boyd- a platypus? It make me glad thats not a possibility, something creeps me out about a mammal who is born in an egg and is venomous! I think they are the only venomous mamal...weird.

Okay will keep you guys posted. I'm thinking they are just exceptionally dark mallard eggs. We don't have alot of other breeds of wild ducks around here and they are too small too be geese or Swan eggs.

Mallard drakes happily cross with domestic ducks. They are nearly as bad about philandering as some of our politicians. This produces birds which may or may not vary just a bit in size and color from the mallard, and in many cases are quite good fliers. I would assume that egg color would vary too. How about shovelers? The hens are very similar to mallards in appearance.
