The alligator eggs I've seen have all been similar in color-white to a fine off-white.

They haven't hatched yet. BUT what I can see of them, they look like mallards. Maybe a cross breed but, I let you know better after they hatch completely!

As for the color variances- ducks are infamous for dropping eggs in other duck's nests- it's a way to make sure their bloodline gets passed on even if something happens to their own nest. There could be more than one mama. Our neighbor found 24 eggs in her field and put them in an incubator- 1/2 of the chicks were Mallards, some were American Black Ducks, and a few wood ducks. We want to see some picts!!!!
