I have no way to split them up at the moment, and I did once before and tried to pair them differently and both became dangerously depressed.The pink/red color shows up, but isn't a guarantee on silvers.
Split them up, see which one lays eggs. If the silver is the one laying eggs, it's just a female that looks like a male. If the non-silver is laying eggs, it might be more interesting.
