What time do you unleash the dinos?

As I’m working from home and have my lunch time between 7pm -8pm, I push them inside the coop around 7:30, changed the water, and let them out around 8am. By that time, all laid their eggs, so I can clean the coop. The water has been already changed in the evening, so I have peace until 1Pm when I change the water a second time.

A new duck momma here. I was just wondering the same thing a few days ago. I’ve been giving my little guys outside time since they’re getting a bit bigger, but I typically bring them inside just before sunset and they’re out around 8-9 in the morning (while my kids are home because of this virus). Once we get our routine back in place and my kids get back to school, I’m hoping to let them out and do all the morning cleaning/feeding once I get the tiny humans where they need to go.

thats my hope as well. I do my “poo patrol” or “doody duty” chores right after my coffee/getting the kids out. Or as it’s been lately, getting them going on workbooks.

We let the crazies out about 30 minutes after sunrise. Hawks around here hunt at dawn, which is when we've lost previous feather babies.

We have the older ones trained to go in their pen on their own and they put themselves to bed. It's usually at about 7pm when they decide to march, single file, onto the pen. Our Rouen is the one who determines when they go to bed.

The ducklings leave the house at the same time. They file out of our back door and get about an hour of freedom before we put them in their special duckling run in the grass with their pool. We then walk them back to the house after the big crazies are set up for the night.
