What to do about Neighbors Chickens....(Updated pg5)

No names or locations need to be mentioned, but years ago a friend and I slowly over the space of several moths removed some animals from a very bad situation. The owner complained to everyone about varmints taking his animals, but never made any attempt to protect them. Once animals know you are bringing them good food, they will go with you pretty willingly.

He had family that worked at animal control so complaints never got responded too.

I'm glad the chickens are safe and good job going the extra mile to see that it happened.

We were visiting my dad when my #2 son was 13 and DD was 8. A beautiful Newfoundland mix walked up and put her paws on my chest. I put her on a leash and sent the kidsaround to find her owner. They found her home less than a block from Grandpa's house. A few weeks later, the kids wanted to walk back to our house on their own and I ok'ed it. It took them much longer than usual and when dusk came, I called the police. Within an hour a patrol car drove up with both kids AND the dog. I thanked the officer and demanded an explanation (after he left). It seems DS had seen the dog tied out and being whacked with sticks and decided to intervene-hence the request to walk home. I returned her with a letter asking to buy her. My offer was accepted and May Day shared our lives for many years and gave us several more fun stories.
