Yeah I did that too. But with my wrist/hands, it's gotten harder to do that and with the economy as sorry as it's been....I've not sold any in two years.

It makes me so sad, the situtation this country is in. Honestly I just do not know what to say. Everything is on the back of the few middle class working people. CA is going under and who gets the IOU's. Not all the mega rich movie people/HOLLYWOOD. Noooo its the blue collor people who keep the state running. I am so sorry for you keep- the chickens, you can sell eggs. If you have eggs there is a basis for a lot of meals.. Do something from home, now is the time to get back to your soap. Try to get to the point to where your bills are covered by 1 salery. That way if one gets down, the other can take over. Stop eating out for the money you can probably get 3 meals, you will be healthier. Also pray alot, our country sure needs it. I know this is so sad we are struggling also...

I'm so sorry that you are going through this! My hubby just got called back to work after being laid off for 1 1/2 years! Also, how could he make you sell the birds? I just wouldnt sell them...period.

Noone can make you DO anything that you dont want to do. Now, if you agree with him about it because of money...thats one thing. But quite another to threaten you with selling off your birds and such if its not what you want..again, sorry you have to go through this crap with him. Its stressful enough to lose your hours..

Well, he at first said one of my HORSES...but I was like, I'll just sell my car! That would save $400 a month in car payments and we have three cars....

Ouch!

Along those same lines.....instead of trying to come up with $300 extra per month, maybe you can cut $300 of expenses per month instead and still come out even. Selling a vehicle to save a payment is actually a pretty good idea as long as the other two are reliable. Food is the easiest place for my family to cut costs when we need to - we do rice and beans, cornbread and beans, etc., once or twice a week. Chili and soup (esp. with beans) are pretty cheap to make and go a long way. We also do meatless meals more often and have sandwiches, make sure all the leftovers get eaten, stuff like that. You can make your own household cleaners pretty cheap, too. If you have cable, get rid of it - you can watch tons of TV shows on your computer the day after their air for free. Cut out any extras on your phone - caller ID, etc. If you have good cells that actually work at your house you can get rid of your landline totally. Install a programmable thermostat if you don't have one yet.

I'm glad noone else lost their job. Sorry about the cut in hours.
