What to do in Tampa for a month?

I thought about that. She's actually hitching a ride WITH a BYC'er as a favor to each other

I'm helping them with gas and I don't have to drive to Birmingham with her to meet Larry. They are going to Cocoa anyway, so she's tagging along until Ocala. Worked great!!

rent a canoo and paddle on the Hillsborough River.....sometimes you see gators. Lots of turtles and critters to see. Snorkel with Manatees in Crystal River. Go to the Florida Aquarium. Venice Beach for fishing, sharks teeth and to eat at Sharky's. WeekiWachee, MOSI, Lowery Park Zoo is fun. Old Hyde Park .... some Wednesdays in the summer have free music, some Fridays used to show movies. Rollerblading/biking on Bay Shore Boulevard. Wagon Wheel Fleamarket, Ybor City during the day. Check art festivals in St Pete/Tampa, usually there are some on weekends and they are fun. Busch Gardens. St Pete Beach, the Hurricane is at Pass A Grille Beach (S. St Pete Beach). Great for sitting on one of the balconies and eat Grouper Sandwiches, Gator (not that I eat that, vegetarian but it's popular) I like that beach better than Clearwater Beach (quiter, not as crazy but a lot of the younger folks love Clearwater Beach). I don't know if the Friendship Bridge is still open for walking/biking/rollerblading/fishing. When I moved from South Tampa it was open, no cars. They build a new bridge for cars next to it. Hope she has a good time!!!!

Dive.......dive..........dive!! Or snorkel. Snorkeling won't cost her anything but a snorkel, mask, and fins. She'll see something new and amazingly beautiful every time that she does it! Yeah, there are 40 million touristy things to go to but we all know money doesn't grow on trees. Snorkeling is amazing....if she has the opportunity to go out on some of the reefs and just snorkel (or hooka) it'll be the time of her life!! Plus she can snorkel right off shore and find lots of amazing things.

Diving and snorkeling are great. Unfortunately snorkeling in Tampa Bay is not great.....close to land it is very murky. Good snorkeling in Crystal River, maybe Venice Beach and some other area south of Tampa. To go scuba diving when I lived in Tampa we used to take a boat from a marina in Clearwater to go 12-15 miles offshore at a minimum.

Not in Tampa. She would have to go to south florida for that. Not much to see off Tampa, unless you hit a wreck. i'm a certified diver, and besides a couple cool springs, not much to see here.

I live in Inverness near crystal river, beautiful here, just the springs, or scalloping.
No there is not miuch to see in Tampa area. And she would have to be a certified diver to rent any dive equipment.
