What to do with 6 (SiX!) Blue Laced Red Wyandotte Roos?

Out of my straight run I got 7 roos and 3 hens. Oye! The exact opposite of what I wanted. Oh, well...I guess that's the price I pay for straight run chicks.

So, now I have 6 roos. Do I sell them? I really don't want to keep feeding them until they're big enough. Besides, they are way to gorgeous to put in a stew pot! I could maybe keep a total of 3 of the seven.....

Really you can only keep one, unless you build breeder pens and set them up as pairs. Or keep 2 and have a pair and a trio.

You're right, they're way too pretty for a stew pot! Depending on your area, you might even score $10 each for them.

what i always did with extra roosters is let them free range with each other and keep one rooster up with your 3 hens.
