What to do with all these chicken feathers?? (craft ideas??)

We have used them to make cards...either glue it on or dab the feathers with paint and press on so it leaves an imprint. Some people say they make ties for fly fishing? Also you can make earrings, pendants, broches etc from silver or goldwire and feathers, can combine with beads etc. You can add them to bird/chicken themed wreaths. You can also wrap some into a bunch tied with sisal and use them as cat toys

How about homemade Masquerade Masks? I did this project with my younger sisters this summer - we made the masks ourselves from paiper mache, molding it right onto our own faces! Then (after a very long drying and sealing process!) we hot-glued the feathers on - nice, fluffy Cochin feathers.

Tuck them into wreaths. I am making wreaths and candle rings from the excess grapevine that's growing all through my woods. I plan on giving these out at Christmas.

I live in a college town and feather earrings and necklaces are the in thing right now. I walk into a trendy local store and there is a peacock feather on some really expensive earrings...I'm like I could make that for free!

Actually, you can sell your feathers to fly fishermen, the ones who make their own flies. Professional fly tiers actually buy whole bird wings, like pheasant, etc. Check it out. If it were me, I would put a batch together and put them up on eBay, selling them as a lot. Fun to try. Couldn't hurt. If that doesn't work, call the fly shops directly.

I have been collecting mine also. I seen this wind mill thingy once, It has 4 wooden animals hanging from a string and they had tails made from feathers on them that spun from the wind, its was really neat. The feathered tailes were like the windmill part. They were small feathers, kinda looked like roosters neck feathers. Their were 4 frogs, or 4 dragonflys. And the wood was not painted it was just varnished and looked neat and hippy rustic looking. I didnt understand the animals they picked but I thought it would be neat to do 4 roosters and then use the rooster feathers for the tails wind mill.
