I have a mean rooster and i need to get rid of him. He is a beautiful bird but he is just to mean to my roo Roockie. I have a hen i want to breed him with first. They are in the same pen but there is also another roo in there with them. Im going to put them two together in a seperate kennel but how long do i need to keep him with her to make sure her eggs are fertile by him. I have seen him on her a week ago or so but i just what to make sure the other roo didnt get her to.

To guarantee the top choice rooster is the sire, you need to separate the hen from the other rooster for at least 3 weeks, then put the desired rooster in with her.
