Hi There!
I recently adopted 2 baby chickens about 4 weeks ago. They were about a week old when I brought them home. They are definitely at the awkward teenage phase currently. When I adopted them from a hatchery they recommended that I feed them "baby chick feed" which has all the nutrients they need to grow big and strong - dried corn, grit, etc. They have blown through the ten pound bag I bought for them. I just wanted to reach out and get some expertise on when I should start them on more adult feed? Or if you have any recommendations on what to feed them?

Also, if you have any fun treats you like to give your baby chicks/chickens, I would greatly appreciate any advice you are willing to me give me.

Thank you so much!

I feed Dumor feed. Each brand is different but Dumor starter/grower is fed from day one to 10 weeks according to the bag and then grower/finisher till 18 weeks of age when they switch to layer feed. If you look at the bag of feed you used it should have a chart to tell you when to switch. I hope this helps.

You did not say if they were in a pen or on the dirt. I have raised 1000's and 1000's and More 1000's(lol). Mine stay on 20% start and grow for a couple months, nothing else while they are in a pen. Once I put the on the dirt---I still feed the same thing but start introducing greens, and other things. When they get to about 2 1/2 months I switch them to a 15% grower finisher and they stay on that until I see the first eggs. I do give them a lot more "treats" as they get weeks older.
