Pasta and bread are not a good idea at all. High carb people food for chickens can lead to serious crop issues, and since this will be new to them they will gobble it down. There should be a focus on protein and fiber, a touch of carbs should be an afterthought.Walmart has chicken food, I don't know if it's in all their stores or if going out is an option for you. Or, canned corn, or other canned veggies with the fluid flushed off. Frozen veggies. Canned tuna. I know an experienced chicken person who treats her birds to people food, like chicken alfredo. I know a lady who routinely fed her geese, cat food. So if you have any convenience people food, or even some cooked canned chicken, canned meat, that'd round out the meal. Or some bread. I don't know about nuts so I'd avoid that though.
Okay, they should be okay for one day, maybe let them out a few more times to free range if you can. You can give them some vegetables, if you have any cat food you can scatter some of that for them to forage for.Four hens
In a coop/run combo in my backyard (not a prefab)
They got about an hour earlier. They can't free range all of the time because they will go into neighbor's yards and/or the street and get hit by cars and eaten by dogs, as well as attacked by hawks.
Yum! Mine go crazy for broccoli. Why would iceberg lettuce be bad? Don’t think it would be. Mine don’t particularly like lettuce (usually have Romain or red leaf) but don’t think it’s bad for them. Sometimes I tear up handfuls of grass a d hand feed it to them; they like that, too.Looked in the fridge and we have broccoli, carrots, and iceberg lettuce at first glance. Iceberg lettuce=bad, right?
Now you’re thinking! You got this!I'll scramble an egg for them
the carrots would have the most food value, not sure about the broccoli for the birds.Looked in the fridge and we have broccoli, carrots, and iceberg lettuce at first glance. Iceberg lettuce=bad, right?
