View attachment 1212105 View attachment 1212106 View attachment 1212107 we installed a sink drain in the bottom, hooked it up to a ball valve, encased the ball valve in this old cooler for access, and ran the pipe on a slight downhill slope to empty into this larger pond that's still under construction.
We have a big water tank we plan to collect rain water from the gutters in to cut down on the water bill. But for now I'll have to drag the hose over there :(

Brilliant!!! I love it! I have been trying to configure something similar and you gave me some ideas to think about... Thank you!

The pictures you posted were so adorable. I don't have any calls but those little cheeks are almost to cute ❤️❤️❤️

Thanks! It works well, I just wish they didn't muck it up so fast. It's a lot of water to drain and fill up :hmm

What I would fill a duck run with:

It really IS crazy how fast they muck it up!! Literally 15 minutes for my ducks. I plan on installing a sand pump filter system this summer as our water is crazy expensive here.
I would be interested in hearing if that works well.

Word of warning. . .ducks find it to be great fun to pick up the rocks and drop them into the water :th
So when we installed the sink drain the little strainer part broke out and we thought nothing of it.
Well today I can't get the drain to work I think there is a rock blocking the ball valve. I've tried flushing it with the hose from both ends to no avail.
I'm going to need a longer more powerful hose or something. It is draining but very very slow trickle. I know something is stuck in the ball valve cause now I can't close it all the way either. It must be wedged in the opening. :rant:th:barnie:barnie:barnie

I wondered about that. I was thinking things like rocks and straw might clog it up. So I have a strainer that leads to a 4 in drain and just drains directly under the pool. Which might be a pain if it’s wet all the time. But hopefully I won’t have to drain it all that often. And I plan on planting some hardy shrubs/grasses around the pool and pump to make it less of an eye sore. We will see how much they let grow.

I think our pipe is a good size to let things flow through. . it's the ball valve that is stopping it up I'm afraid.
