What to put on floor?

Ok, so I know what features my coop should have and all that sort of stuff, but what I'm still confused about is what to put on the floor? Say for instance I have the bare plywood on the floor, surely I don't want the birds pooping directly on that. What is the best/most common floor covering?

I agree with you that you shouldnt just have a plain wood floor. I put a lanolium floor on mine. I went to a local flooring place and told them what I needed it for...I got a VERY good deal on a nice solid piece.

People use vinyl.

I just have a plywood floor painted with exterior floor paint, and then covered with 4-5 inches of pine shavings.

I have vinyl over plywood.

I have sheet vinyl in my coop, very easy to clean, nothing sticks to it.

I too have plywood floor and exterior paint on it then 4 to 5 inches wood shavings (just plain wood, NO cedar)

I did the same as sundown...it works great for cleaning and you don't have to worry about the flooring coming up at the corners and the hens eating it. If you do use paint get the high gloss...much easier for cleaning

i have t sticky vinyl tiles, easy to install and cut, got a great deal at a discount store. About a 4 x 10 area covered for less than $20.
