What treat did your chickies get today?

Today is applesauce snack day!!! We place the applesauce in a few small plastic dishes so they all get some.

I found an entire box of stale rice chex, so I threw it all out for them. They loved it.

If it's red, they'll jump on it! Roma tomatoes are their favorite. This time of year, I'll shop for 6 for $1 specials. In the Summer we have more than enough from the garden.

I gave my girls an apple.

They went crazy.When I came in their later, it was gone.

Mine get fruit smoothie left over from the kids breakfast. Its got banana's, yogurt, mixed berries and oats in it. They love it!

Hi I'm new here and relatively new to keeping chickens. You mentioned feeding avocado to your chickens? I was told they couldn't eat it. Do you have a list of things they can and can't eat?

No No Foods:

Nothing too salty or sweet or fried


Nothing moldy

asparagus

avocado pits and skins

no potatoes at all

raw beans

onions

tomato leaves

rhubarb

chocolate

no caffeine

egg plant leaves

Left over rice and 2 nicely sliced pears! They girls loved it!

Today was kale with turkey and noodles, leftover salad and some quinoa with tomatoes. Got them out of the coop for their first snow so it must have been good.

Mine got Malt-O Meal cooked in broccoli water with mixed berries scratch and sunflower seeds.
