What treat did your chickies get today?

Cut a little corn off first, to give them a taste. Then tap your finger on the cob. They should get the idea. I gave mine more corn today. They started eating the cob from yesterday's corn so I figured they wanted more lol. Gave them more dead crickets from my farm today and some superworms. Also found a bunch of baby slugs and the silkie chicks went nuts.

That's a good idea, I will go out and try that. They are picky little things though! What are superworms?

They are a larger larva stage of a much larger darkling beetle. They get much bigger and are better for feeding to full grown or juvenile chicks.

Think giant mealworm lol.

My australorps, Jersey giants and silkie love it. My americauna and red sex link pick at it. My buff orpingtons attack it. Lol But, the only ones that like bananas are my buffs. All my breeds have different tastes. Makes it easier to decide who gets what..I have three separate coops.

We have buffs and even after cutting off some kernels and giving it to them they don't seem to be interested. I will try banana's tomorrow. It has been an adventure in trial and error when it comes to food treats.

Watermelon. They played keep away then one ate the whole chunk at once. It was funny to watch the water shoot out of her mouth before she could swallow it.

I'm gonna try the frozen banana once the heat hits today. It should give them something to cool off with during their panting time. I bought some meal worms, which I thought were very expensive. They will only get a few of those.

I gave mine some hot dogs, and then later on I will give them some cheese.

The frozen banana was funny to watch because they expected it to be soft. My splash is so neurotic that she had a cluxking fit because she couldn't figure out what was the matter with her special treat!! It was rather entertaining!
