What treat did your chickies get today?

Since its been chilly and they are locked up I have been making them oatmeal mixed with bananas, grape nuts cereal, crushed walnuts and stale graham crackers. When thats gone I toss them a head of lettuce.

Black oil sun seeds (sold as birdseed- those black seeds that are mixed in to a wild bird mix sometimes)

Split pea/lentil soup! That doesn't sound very tasty but they loved it.

I cleaned out my cupboards and boiled up a big mash of old pancake mix, outdated and stale pasta, some freezer burnt veggies, and other oddments. Kind of looked like a big batch of really nasty hot cereal - but did they tear into it. They loved it on a dreary the day we had here.

Some butter lettuce and radicchio - yeah, I know but I'm tired of salad for a couple of days and didn't want it to just go bad. Fresh (frozen) corn. During corn season I froze quite a bit for the girls and a little for us too. LOL. Some homemade whole grain bread. Ok, ok, ok, my husband says it too... my girls are spoiled rotten. But they are healthy and happy.
