Yesterday was my chickens first snow so they got some warm food in broccoli water.


and some scratch before bed time.

Broccoli water?? Probably a dumb question, but going to ask anyway. how do you make broccoli water?

Has any one every tried the suet cakes/doughs for wild birds? would that be okay for them?

I gave my ladies a suet cake and they had nothing to do with it. Probably because it was a cheap one i bought from Family Farm & Home on black friday they had them for like .20 a piece one year. The birds loved em tho.

I bought some collard greens, spinach and an avocado for mine last weekend and have been giving them that. They love it. Also lettuce and carrot peels this week. Along with meal worms and scratch.

Today it was some leftover homemade bread, kale, swiss chard, and some homemade yogurt on top. They ate everything but seemed to really like the yogurt and kale the most.

The Hen - if it's like the broccoli water I give my girls, it's just water I used to steam the broccoli - let it cool. The girls sucked that up in no time.

I do the same whenever we make any veggies for supper, mix that with some bread to make a yummy bread mash and the love it!
