What treat did your chickies get today?

Well he went out to let them out this morning and came back with his 1st egg, he seemed chuffed! Maybe he will come round to them soon!? I think the poop puts him off the most! Also he seems to think they may peck him! I've said they won't ( however they may being greedy & curious all rolled into one)

I have always considered my girls to be free range as they are fenced in a very large area. However after seeing all your pictures of chooks running about on the grass I thought I would let them proper free range for a while. We have just under an acre of land - and where did they choose to hang out? In the new flower bed that I created last week, with nice neat edges and newly planted stuff! Needless to say it no longer has neat edges.... But he chickens had a great time!

I TREATED MY CHICKENS TO 2 BIG MARROW COURGETTES AND THEY LOVED THEM :)

My husband learned quickly not to come into the coop wearing shorts after having been running the weed eater as it slings bits of grass and the grass sticks to his legs. He sat down on the steps to the coop and immediately a couple of hens started pecking at the grass bits stuck to his legs...of course, they also were pulling leg hairs and nipping skin in their excitement. I heard him yelp a couple of times, something to the effect "Hey, that's me you're eating!" and then he was up and out the door like a shot!

Later on he told me he never wanted to accidentally fall down inside the chicken run for fear he'd be pecked to death. Wimp.

That's what I say too. If I ever fell down or fainted in coop, my chicks would probably eat their mommy!! Me.
