Today i let my rescue battery hens into one of my raised veg beds where i have a crop of swede (some people call them turnip). They are fully mature swede so they have finished growing. For anyone who may not know what they are swede have very large broad cabbage like leaves. The girls were like kids running wild in a sweet shop . They disappeared in under the leafy veg and started picking away. It was quite funny because they kept going from one plant to another after only one peck... as if they worried the other bird were going to get more than they did.. exactly like greedy pre school children who want to play with all the toys to stop the other children playing with them.... they loved every minute of it.

What's bunny bread?
I mixed cottage cheese, plan yogurt and the powder from their food and then added strawberries. They love this mash!
