What treat did your chickies get today?

mealworms for the new roos in their quarantine pen and scratch in coop and rolled in a fresh head of cabbage for the run. Chicken soccer!

I gave mine some warm wheat cereal with a quarter cup of scratch cooked with it. Some warm leftover canned jack mackerel that my cats didn't eat. And here in a minute they will get some warm egg shells that have been run through the blender and are drying in the oven.

The cold weather is hitting here so I am kinda pampering them with warm food.

Oh, and they have a bunch of pumpkins they get to pick at.

I gave them some fermented grated carrots....I don't think it was there fave. They did like pieces of bread soaked in bacon grease.

Also, I thought bread had to be soaked before you gave it to them? Would be so much better if you didn't have too...??

mine too... though I don't give them any meat... my dogs get that. it is hysterical to watch them squabble over tomatoes and pepper cores.
