What treat did your chickies get today?

Sunflower seeds *a staple* and some scrambled eggs.

How did a "staple" become a treat, or, are you saying that sunflower seeds are a staple food for them? I bet the mouse from the trap was an intetesting experience...My girls have caught and "deflated" a few toads in their time.

Today my flock was treated a sunflower from a patch of 20+ volunteer plants. Large June bug larvae. Lettuce and Kale from the garden.

Yes, they creep me out and I think they are DISGUSTING! but the ducks and chickens love them.

My chickens are terrified of worms.  Does anyone else have this problem?

My rooster came into the flock later and still doesn't realize the girls are snobs and turn their noses up at earthworms. He tidbits with them occasionally with no success. My ducks on the other hand love worms and dig when I'm digging to find them
