They got a handful of clover and an interactive dried mealworm toy (a store strawberry container with mealworms in it).

Today the swarm got bird seed, sourdough crusts and the pear I was trying to eat for breakfast.

Getting overloaded with eggs (haven't been eating as many as I should), so after making myself some scrambled eggs, I made the girls some with a lil black pepper. Will be going out shortly to give them some broccoli, which they love more than anything.

Fermented wild bird seed...plus all the camel and field crickets that fall in and drown.

I have guests sheltering from the storm that include some youngsters. Those kids have been feeding my birds pretty constantly. Everything from garden gleanings to weeds and grass to popcorn and unfinished sandwiches. My birds are now officially spoiled. I'm letting it go, as long as the children check with me first to make sure nothing harmful gets fed. Kids > chickens. These are probably losing their homes as we speak. I'm sure the chickens Will survive this temporary "mistreatment". The children need the distraction and some fun.
